2017 has been an exceptional year for air freight. The market has developed a new dynamic characterized by tight transport capacity and high freight rates. Panalpina’s early prediction of a very busy peak season in the last quarter turned out to be correct. In October, Panalpina recorded its highest ever monthly Air Freight volumes, a record that was beaten only one month later in November.

To keep pace with demand, the company decided to consolidate its three warehouses into one facility of almost 7000 m2 within the modern logistics center in Pavlov, close to Vaclav Havel Airport Prague. Panalpina was recently contracted by Salini Impregilo (ISJV), a leading global construction firm, to transport the two main towers of a new rail bridge for Sydney Metro, Australia’s biggest public transport project.
