Panalpina’s new Healthcare Logistics Center in Weiterstadt near Frankfurt/Main has obtained Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification and is ready to assist healthcare customers with the handling, transport and storage of their temperature-sensitive medicinal products. Frankfurt is Panalpina’s third logistics facility in Germany’s Rhein-Main region, alongside Moerfelden and Neu-Isenburg.

As of today, May 18, 2018, Panalpina has added Querétaro International Airport (QRO) in Mexico to the “Speedy” loop of its Charter Network, which also connects Mexico City (MEX) and Guadalajara (GDL) with Panalpina’s air freight gateway in Huntsville (HSV), Alabama. The summer period is usually a calmer time for air freight – but not this year. The strong market development with high volumes will likely continue for the rest of the year, further widening the gap between demand and supply. “The challenges are manifold, but we haven taken action to secure extra capacities to meet the growing demand,” says Marc van Dommele, regional head of Air Freight Europe.
