Separate bedrooms

At Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, Panalpina now operates two facilities, separated by a runway. One is dedicated exclusively to healthcare products, the other to perishables and general cargo. It's like having two bedrooms in a marriage, separated by a long corridor with lots of shiny lights on the sides. An odd idea, you may say, but it can actually make perfect sense (and save marriages).

Bruno is pretty upbeat these days. A few weeks ago, he reached an agreement with Belgium-based medical device company IBA. Panalpina will soon be offering comprehensive value-added warehousing and global transportation services to IBA from its hub at Brussels Airport. For this purpose, a new 2,800 m2 facility is being built. Construction is about to begin.

A short window for extra-long pipes

One of Panalpina’s oil and gas customers is currently engaged in a 15-year drilling program in Oman. The customer enlisted a big steel manufacturer, to supply 62 kilometers of gas pipeline to support the project. Fast track development meant the customer required longer than usual pipes. To ensure timely shipment of this irregular-shaped cargo, Panalpina’s expertise was called upon.
Brazil Wings celebrates successful first year

With the Brazil Wings service, Panalpina offers scheduled main deck capacity to South America from the U.S. The many benefits of this and many other services will again be presented at Intermodal South America. Since Brazil Wings launched in 2015, customers have mostly used it for high-tech products, heavy machines and equipment for agriculture, chemicals as well as aerospace and consumer goods.
