Panalpina Energy and Project Solutions executed another #MajorMove with two port-to-door shipments for one of Brazil’s leading ceramics makers. The move included ocean and overland transportation of an industrial mill and a hydraulic press from Genoa, Italy, to Paranaguá, one of the main gateways in southern Brazil, as well as the installation of both machines in Tijucas, Santa Catarina.

Three long-standing agents of Panalpina are becoming full members of the company’s Perishables Network. An Air Cargo World feature on forwarders and e-commerce in perishables saw Panalpina’s Colin Wells and Quint Wilken elaborate on the state of the sector. Wells said he embraces the Amazon/Whole Foods deal, "because the industry needs changing. Amazon will have their own solution, and therefore we believe that Panalpina will be well-positioned to actually offer solutions to non-Amazon retailers.”

The thyssenkrupp blue.cruiser has taken an impressive second place in the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) Cruiser Class of the World Solar Challenge. The SolarCar team from Hochschule Bochum did an excellent job throughout the race and was the first of its class to arrive at the finish line, but the Eindhoven team took the first prize thanks to a better overall standing.

To keep pace with demand, the company decided to consolidate its three warehouses into one facility of almost 7000 m2 within the modern logistics center in Pavlov, close to Vaclav Havel Airport Prague. Moving to this strategic location allows Panalpina to distribute shipments to customers across Europe and the globe more efficiently.
