The perishables trade between China and Peru has a long history of cultural exchange dating back to the 19th century. And this trade is expected to increase in line with China’s growing appetite for fresh produce. Year-to-date and compared to the entire year of 2017, Panalpina alone has already tripled perishables exports from Peru to China.

Panalpina was recently called in for help by one of its largest oil and gas customers in Angola to avoid a shutdown at one of their main offshore platforms. A critical cargo of specialized pipes, bundles and racks had had to be moved from Malabo in Equatorial Guinea to Cabinda, Angola in a port-to-port operation, and Panalpina deployed its African Star to save the day.

The thyssenkrupp blue.cruiser has taken an impressive second place in the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) Cruiser Class of the World Solar Challenge. Panalpina continues a string of successful new-route developments in the Americas. In little over two years of cooperation with the manufacturer of aluminum containers Crown Colombiana, and after gaining new business with the company between the US and Colombia in 2016, Panalpina has secured an additional contract to move about 3,500 TEUs of ocean freight from Brazil to Colombia.
